Move customer-facing web hosting from Vercel to Cloudflare
On 24 July 2026, we moved Rulebase’s customer-facing web properties from Vercel to Cloudflare. This consolidated DNS, access controls, and web delivery in the existing Rulebase Cloudflare account while removing duplicated hosting costs.
Decision
Cloudflare is the production host for the Rulebase marketing website and the US and EU web apps. The app variants use the same build, with regional API addresses supplied through deployment environment variables.
The production website, rulebase-ui, and rulebase-ui-eu Vercel projects were deleted after their Cloudflare domains and deployments were verified.
We also cleaned up legacy projects:
signalandrulebase-marketinghad no custom Rulebase domains. Their Cloudflare deployments were validated before the Vercel projects were removed.rulebase-beam-devhad no custom domain or connected Git repository and used manual deployments. We retired it instead of migrating it.

Vercel account changes
Advanced Deployment Protection was disabled, removing its $150 monthly add-on. The Rulebase Vercel team was then downgraded from Pro to Hobby. The existing Personal Hobby team was merged into Rulebase and deleted as part of Vercel’s required downgrade flow.
Cost impact
This estimate uses the Vercel billing page immediately before cancellation and Cloudflare Workers pricing as of July 2026.

This is approximately $3,940 per year if usage remains similar. The fixed-cost saving is about $245 per month after allowing for Cloudflare’s $5 Workers minimum. If Rulebase was already paying the account-level Workers minimum, the incremental Cloudflare base cost is zero and the saving is approximately $333 per month.
Vercel also issued a one-time $67.74 refund for unused Pro time. Reconcile this estimate against the first complete Cloudflare billing cycle because request and CPU overages are usage-dependent.
